Debut of technology on the goal line in Africa

Technology on the goal line will be used for the first time on African soil on the occasion of the FIFA Club World Cup, Morocco in 2013 which kick off will be given on December 11 .

Last October , the German company GoalControl GmbH has been selected through a tender process conducted among four technology providers on the goal line holders FIFA license, which had been invited by the governing body of world football to submit a proposal for the competition. Several inspections of the sites have taken place since and GoalControl -4D system was installed in two stadiums hosting the competition in Marrakech and Agadir.

The testing institute accredited by FIFA SportsLab , then made ​​the final installation tests that were positive in both stages , this standardized approach is part of the official certification procedure described in the manual control technology on the goal line .

A workout for referees was also held in Marrakech on December 8 . Before each meeting, the match officials will test the system themselves in accordance with the procedure approved by the International Football Association Board ( IFAB) and implemented for the first time in 2012 at the FIFA Club World Cup Japan.

Since its official debut , the technology on the goal line has helped the arbitrators in their decisions at competitions held on three continents.

The GoalControl -4D system has been proven at the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 meets all the requirements of FIFA and reporting correctly each of sixty-eight goals . More importantly, match officials have all expressed satisfaction with the system.

The GoalControl -4D system operates through fourteen high-speed cameras installed under the roof of the stadium around the field (seven cameras per goal). When the ball completely crosses the line, the CPU automatically sends and within a second encrypted radio signal to watch the referee to indicate by means of a vibration and visual signal the goal is scored.

GoalControl GmbH will also be the official supplier of technology on the goal line for the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 ™ .
